Played by Joseph Quinn, Eddie Munson debuted on Stranger Things in its fourth season. An archetypal metalhead and the president of Hawkins High's Dungeons & Dragons group, the Hellfire Club, Eddie quickly became a breakout character among fans of the Netflix hit. His crowning moment came in the season finale "The Piggyback," when he lured away a flock of demobats with a performance of "Master of Puppets" before ultimately sacrificing himself to save Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and the rest of the Party.

Since the release of "The Piggyback," streams of "Master of Puppets" have skyrocketed. Moreover, Metallica personally expressed appreciation for Stranger Things' use of one of their biggest songs, saying "The way [series creators] The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include 'Master of Puppets' in the show, but to have such a pivotal scene built around it...It's an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie's journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show." The band even paid tribute to Eddie during their set at this year's Lollapalooza.

Currently, the Duffers and their team are in the early stages of putting together Stranger Things' fifth and final season. While specifics are unknown at this time, it is confirmed that the story will pick up from Season 4's cliffhanger, with Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) beginning to break down the barrier between Hawkins and the Upside Down. "Usually at the end of a season, we tie things up with a nice bow before a little tease that says, 'Hold on, something is unraveling," co-creator Matt Duffer explained. "As we move into season 5, we don't have to do that. There won't be a reset from where we finish this season."

Stranger Things is available to stream on Netflix.
