Stranger Things: Relive The '80s with Burger King's Upside Down Whopper

Burger King has joined the Stranger Things frenzy by revealing its very own Upside Down Whopper.

The brand posted a video to social media revealing the burger, which has been, well, simply turned upside down. It's nothing too extravagant, but it does pay homage to the dark realm within the Stranger Things universe, further whetting fans' appetite for the eight-episode third season order which will premiere July 4 on Netflix.

As the promo video shows, the meat, condiments, and bun are the same as a regular Whopper. However, this special is going to be served in Burger King's classic packaging from the '80s, matching the series' 1985 setting in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. Coca-Cola has also gotten in on the Stranger Things-inspired nostalgic marketing, partnering with Netflix for a special limited edition re-release of New Coke.

This Upside Down Whopper will be sold starting June 21 at select Burger King locations in Miami, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. These restaurants will also have limited-edition ketchup packets, T-shirts, crowns and pins for fans to purchase to continue building buzz for the Stranger Things' third season.
