With the premiere date of the fourth season of Stranger Things fast approaching, Netflix asks, "you ready, nerds?"Netflix recently started its countdown until Season 4 makes its debut and encourages viewers to "rewind" and rewatch the first three seasons of Netflix's award-winning show. The streaming giant also dropped a montage of some of Stranger Things' most iconic moments, including the Ghostbuster Halloween costumes, the boys finding Eleven in the woods, Lucas throwing fireworks into the Mind Flayer's mouth and Nancy's sharpshooter skills.RELATED: Stranger Things’ Posters Reveal the Upside Down Is Much More Than an Evil Dimension

Created by the Duffer Brothers, the first season of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in July 2016 with Season 2 and Season 3 debuting in October 2017 and July 2019, respectively. The series quickly garnered an international fanbase upon its release, and it has received consistently positive feedback from critics. Moreover, it has won a myriad of prestigious awards including six Primetime Emmy Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Critics' Choice Award and two American Film Institute awards. Stranger Things has also received three People's Choice Awards.

In the buildup to the premiere of Season 4, speculation about potential story beats and possible narrative elements has exploded amongst fans; some of the most popular theories posit that the new season will introduce the concept and ability to time travel and explore the secret history of the Upside Down. However, fans will have to wait a while longer before any theories are officially confirmed, but there is plenty of Stranger Things content to enjoy in the interim.

Beyond the first three seasons of the show, there are two mobile Strange Things tie-in games -- Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Thing 3: The Game -- which expand upon the world and the story. Both titles were a part of Netflix's initial foray into the world of video games. The streaming giant eventually wants "to build a library of games that offers something for everyone." There are also the Stranger Things tie-in novels, which explore the backstories of fan-favorite characters like Robin Buckley and Police Chief Jim Hopper.

Moreover, Magic: The Gathering collaborated with Netflix to create a special, limited-edition set of cards that feature a plethora of characters from the show, including Will, Lucas and Eleven. The Mind Flayer and Joyce Byer's iconic wall of Christmas lights also make appearances in the set.

Stranger Things Season 4, Vol. 1 is scheduled to debut on May 27 and Vol. 2 is set to premiere on July 1. A fifth and final season of the series has also been confirmed.
