Stranger Things is one of the most popular shows on Netflix, and fans were given a treat this morning when a new teaser appeared on the series’ YouTube channel. Titled “Eleven, are you listening?,” this new look at the upcoming season shows Eleven and her siblings as children, being instructed by Matthew Modine's Martin Brenner

As is the case with any major property, the fandom loves to comb through every little detail of these short videos to try and predict what could be coming in the next season. One such detail in this new look at Stranger Things is the mysterious numbering that appears in the description of the teaser’s video, which reads, “002/004.” Clearly, there is some significance with these numbers, so let’s look at what they could mean.

The first, and the most obvious, conclusion is that the numbering places the show’s release date on February 4 or, for those who follow the British way of writing dates, April 2. There is some evidence that adds fuel to this fire, mostly in the form of Finn Wolfhard revealing that Season 4 is unlikely to premiere until next year. However, that's not the case for the numbering, and for once, it might not actually be a clue for anything at all.

The only way to solve the numerical mystery is by comparing this new look to the “From Russia with love...” teaser that dropped over a year ago. The description for that video reads “001/004,” and just like the new teaser, there were no hints about what that means. But by seeing that same detail in both descriptions, the mystery may begin to solve itself. Since both videos have the same detail, it appears that the numbers are starting a sequence: the first one was “001,” while the second is “002.” So, either the numbers are stating that these are the first and second teasers in a series of four, or it could simply be that they are the first and second teasers for Season 4.

Some may claim that the “HNL Control Room” video released the day before the new teaser pokes a hole in this theory because it doesn't use the numbering sequence, but that clip acted more like a teaser for the eventual teaser. So, with that being the case, fans of Stranger Things can expect a few more looks at the upcoming season before its eventual release.
