Stranger Things 3: The Game Gets a Haunting Teaser Trailer

With Stranger Things four months away from returning to Netflix, the tie-in game for Season 3 has released its first teaser trailer.

The teaser for the upcoming PlayStation 4 title is a scene-for-scene recreation of the third season's first full trailer, rendering in the game's 16-bit, isometric perspective. The trailer also reveals the game features a co-op multiplayer mode, while screenshots on developer Bonus XP's website show Sheriff Hopper and Joyce Byers teaming up to fight mysterious, red-shirted goons.

Development on a Stranger Things video game adaptation was announced in June, with Netflix partnering with prolific video game developer Telltale Games to create an in-continuity title. However, after Telltale underwent massive layoffs in the months that followed, Netflix began looking for new developers for the project.

It is currently unknown if the game itself will be a direct adaptation of the show or if it will feature an entirely new story within the greater Stranger Things mythos.
