Stranger Things 3: The Game Pits Players Against The Mind Flayer

In Stranger Things 3: The Game, players will be able to take on the Mind Flayer from the Netflix series of the same name. Players will solve puzzles before heading into battle against the Upside Down's big boss.

The game was developed by studio Bonus XP, who unveiled two characters at E3. Maxine "Max" Mayfield (Sadie Sink) will send karate kicks and cause fire damage, while Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) uses her psychic push power to tackle her opponents.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the announcement was made during the E3's "Bringing Your Favorite Shows to Life: Developing Netflix Originals Into Video Games" panel. Popular shows from the streaming service's lineup, such as The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, will make their debut as interactive experiences as well.

Netflix described the story as "an adventure game that blends a distinctively retro art style with modern gameplay mechanics to deliver nostalgic fun with a fresh new twist."

The launch of the game will coincide with the premiere of the series' third season. During the eight episode arc, summer appears to be heating up in more ways than one in Hawkins, Indiana. In 1985, just when Eleven and her friends are about to have fun at the new mall, the town is threatened by old and new enemies.
