Ever since "X-Men: Apocalypse" kicked off production earlier this year, director Bryan Singer has kept his Instagram feed filled with updates and teases from the 2016 mutant movie. Sometimes they're of impressive, larger-than-life set pieces -- and other times they're just pics of Singer playing air guitar with a prop. Today's post, though, is a big one.

An actual in-costume mutant makes a rare appearance in the post, as Alexandra Shipp's Storm looks out over the Egyptian landscape with some gnarly clouds forming overhead. Above the monitor, you can see Shipp on set, revealing the green screen environment she's reacting to.

A previous Instagram pic featured a ruined Cairo, with Singer alluding to the set being of Storm's hometown. The official shots we've seen from the film also reveal that Storm is sporting a version of her edgy, 1980s look.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" opens on May 27, 2016.
