Steven Universe Gets New Title, Opening Sequence for Season 6

Early in Steven Universe: The Movie, Steven and the Gems sing "Here We Are in the Future," showing off the changes Beach City and its heroes have undergone over the years. Indeed the "future" and elements of growing up have been major themes for Rebecca Sugar's smash-hit cartoon, Steven Universe. So, in the show's recently announced sixth season, it will continue that trend through its new name: Steven Universe Future

The new season will take place after the events of the movie, featuring an older Steven and the newly renovated Beach City. Of course, Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst, and newer Crystal Gem inductees Lapis Lazuli, Peridot, and Bismuth will be along for the ride. The new season will feature Steven trying to ensure peace after saving the universe once again. The description reads: "As he runs out of other people's problems to solve, he'll finally have to face his own."

The new opening sequence was released on YouTube via the LA Times:

Familiar figures such as the Gems, the Diamonds, Lars and his space pirate crew, and Connie appear in the opening. The sequence opens with a brief throwback to the "We Are the Crystal Gems" theme before launching into a remixed "Here We Are in the Future."
