Director James Gunn may not be sure if he wants to tackle a third "Guardians of the Galaxy" film, but don't tell that to Steven Tyler.

The Aerosmith frontman, former "American Idol" judge and occasional actor is angling for a role in the Marvel Studios franchise.

Talking with "People" magazine about his role in the new horror film "Happy Birthday," the singer reveals he's been bitten by the acting bug. "It made me want to do more movies for sure," he said. "I would do anything to be in 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3' – are you listening James Gunn?"

While Tyler didn’t specify which character he’d like to play, he also didn’t rule out a cameo as himself. Given his taste in music, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord would probably be pretty excited to meet Tyler.

Although Tyler most often appears as himself in his television and film roles, his credits also include "Clubland," "Good Night, Joseph Parker" and "The Polar Express."

“Happy Birthday” is in theaters and on demand beginning today. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and Kurt Russell, arrives May 5, 2017.
