"Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S." #1 has the new creative team of Sterling Gates, Philip Tan and Jason Paz. Cover by Brett Booth.

Upcoming DC Comics miniseries "Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S." has a new creative team, as revealed Tuesday in an article on USA Today. According to the piece, the book will now be written by Sterling Gates and illustrated by Philip Tan and Jason Paz, replacing the originally solicited team of writer Matt Kindt and artist Manuel Garcia.

"It's Steve [Trevor] learning about himself and reflecting on his relationship with Wonder Woman even as he finds the means to potentially save her -- if the Justice League isn't actually dead," Gates, who also writes "Justice League's Vibe" for DC, said to USA Today of the series.

The story will co-star Killer Frost, whose New 52 origin Gates wrote in a recently released Villains Month one-shot. "I wanted to keep doing things with her and this felt like a really nice spot to do that," Gates said.

Last August, Kindt, who currently writes multiple projects at publishers including DC, Marvel Comics, Valiant Entertainment and Dark Horse Comics, spoke to CBR News about "Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S." "When they asked me to do 'A.R.G.U.S.' at first I said, 'I think I'm too busy,'" Kindt told CBR. "I left it at that and then I went to bed at night and thought, 'Man, that'd be new superheroes in the DC Universe,' and I started thinking about it and getting ideas and realized if anybody else writes that I'd be super jealous. So the next day I said, 'I'll do it.' [Laughs] I can't let anybody else write that!"

"Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S." #1, the first part of the six-issue tie-in to DC's "Forever Evil" event, is scheduled for release on Oct. 23.
