The drama stars Brendan Gleeson (Assassin's Creed, Harry Potter) as retired detective Bill Hodges, with Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful, The Lone Ranger) as Brady Hartsfield, aka the "Mercedes Killer," a mentally deranged ice cream truck driver and IT worker. The trailer shows the killer's murderous cat-and-mouse game, in which he sends email and letters to taunt the retired detective, which reignites Hodges' quest to bring him to justice.

The series took a while to get off the ground after a 10-episode order was announced in May 2016. Recasting had to be done following the death of actor Anton Yelchin -- originally cast as Hartsfield -- in June 2016, and the departure of actress Ann-Margret (originally playing Ida Silver), who was replaced by Holland Taylor.

Mr. Mercedes is just one of several Stephen King projects debuting this year, following last month's premiere of The Mist on Spike, and The Dark Tower is set to hit theaters in August. Stephen King's It will also be out later this year, while Castle Rock is slated for a 2018 premiere on Hulu.

From Executive Producers Stephen King, David E. Kelley and Jack Bender comes the story of a demented serial killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails. This forces the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he can strike again. Catch the premiere on AUDIENCE Network August 9th at 8pm ET/PT.
