Stephen King confirmed he and J.J. Abrams are developing a horror anthology series.

"I talked with J.J. Abrams a lot about a possible anthology series of tiny horrors," King said during a panel about the duo's Apple TV+ mini-series Lisey’s Story, according to The Wrap. "We got really down and dirty about it and talked about things that were really, really scary."

King added that his creative relationship with Abrams dates back to ABC's Lost. "A bunch of us went out and saw a scary movie and I’ve been in touch with JJ since then," King explained.

The prolific horror writer also previously worked with Abrams' Bad Robot Productions on the James Franco-starring Hulu series 11.22.63 and the two-season anthology series Castle Rock, which was based on the shared universe of King’s writing and executive-produced by Abrams.

Also, King joked that he likes working with Abrams and Bad Robot because they have "a great organization and they give great Christmas presents." He added, "I love working with them. It's been a great relationship."

In other King-related news, it was also announced that Paramount Pictures has tapped director Edgar Wright to helm a new big-screen adaptation of King's The Running Man. Published in 1982, The Running Man is set in a dystopian future and centers on a game show in which contestants are declared enemies of the state and chased down by Hunters. The grand prize of $1 million is awarded to anyone who is able to survive the game for 30 days.

The Running Man was previously adapted in the 1987' film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as Ben Richards. In that film, Richards is a falsely accused criminal who competes on a similarly formatted game show in hopes of winning the big prize -- a state pardon.
