Author Stephen King shared his critical thoughts on the CBS adaptation of his 2009 novel Under the Dome.
"Under the Dome [on CBS] was one I felt like went entirely off the rails, because the people are doing things that don't seem realistic," King explained to The Washington Post. "One thing that killed me was you never hear the sound of a generator anywhere. The electric power is fine. Everything looks clean. Everything is great, except that they're cut off from the world. And that isn't what would happen …If you ask people to accept those ideas, there has to be a sense of realism that goes with it, that pulls you along."
Under the Dome ran for three seasons from 2013-2015 on CBS. Although it initially debuted with high ratings, the show could not consistently maintain its audience, with CBS eventually pulling the plug.
Developed by Brian K. Vaughan, the sci-fi drama centered on the residents of Chester's Mill, which was suddenly and mysteriously covered by an invisible dome that cuts off the small town from the rest of the world.
