The Late Show with Stephen Colbert created a political parody mash-up of the Republican Party and The Avengers called "America: Endgame (RNC Edition)."

The famously liberal talk show host/comedian released the sketch just as the 2020 Republican National Convention was beginning. The sketch features key Republican Party members, including President Donald Trump, as villains from Avengers: Endgame. Using old-school cut and paste editing, the politicians' heads were superimposed onto the bodies of multiple Marvel villains such as Thanos and his Black Order. The sketch begins with President Trump playing genocidal supervillain warlord, Thanos, and ends with his son, Eric Trump, in a kid's Batman costume claiming, "I'm Batman, Dad!"

Trump/Thanos performs a multitude of evil deeds during the sketch, such as banishing minions with a golf club, destroying rows of mailboxes and erecting a once-destroyed Confederate statue. In addition to the President, the supporting cast features Attorney General Bill Barr as a giant ape, Rudy Giuliani as a Chitauri alien, Ivanka Trump as Proxima Midnight, Jared Kushner as Corvus Glaive, Melania Trump as Hela, Mitch McConnell as the Red Skull and Mike Pence as himself. This is just one of many times Colbert has cast the President as a supervillain.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is currently being filmed at home, due to coronavirus (COVID-19) safety measures.
