With the Black Widow trailer now out in the open, the fan theories regarding Scarlett Johansson's titular character have started flooding the internet. Among those is Stephen Colbert's odd idea about the character.

With Scarlett Johansson as his guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Colbert took the opportunity to share his theory. According to him, since this is Johansson's eight appearance as Natasha Romanoff  and Spiders have eight legs, this will be her last time reprising the role for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Johansson was left aghast by the question, and Colbert took her non-answer as a confirmation that he was correct. "100% I got that right," he said. "Get on that Internet. Get on that."

The humorous interaction continued, with Colbert thanking Johansson for "revealing that" before bombarding her with more questions. Eventually, Johansson was able to get a word in, referencing the Marvel representative with a tranquilizer gun read to tranquilize her if she said anything.

Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei aka The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina. The film opens May 1, 2020.
