With "Elseworlds," this year's Arrowverse crossover, just a few short weeks away, DC television fans are waiting to see just how much use the event will get out of the multiverse. As John Wesley Shipp will be reprising his role from the 1990s Flash series, the crossover is setting a precedent for other stars of bygone DC TV shows to return as well. Now, a photo from Arrow star Stephen Amell is prompting speculation that cast members from the hit show Smallville could make their way to the Arrowverse.Amell, who has a history of dropping teasers on social media, posted a photo to Twitter with Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum, who played Clark Kent/Superman and Lex Luthor, respectively, on Smallville. The photo is accompanied by a cryptic caption reading, "Pretty excited about this one..."RELATED: Elseworlds: John Wesley Shipp Suits Up As '90s Flash in New Photo

Although many of the replies to this tweet sound hopeful that Welling and Rosenbaum will join the Arrowverse, the nature of the meeting is unclear. The sign at the back of the room indicates that the meeting could have something to do with Amell's Nocking Point Wines. At this point, nothing regarding the Smallville stars' Arrowverse debut has been formally announced, so it's possible that Amell is just teasing fans or promoting Nocking Point.
