Former Arrow star, Stephen Amell, set to debut in his new series on Starz, Heels, in August, addressed reports that he was forcibly removed from an airplane flight earlier this week due to a heated, drunken argument with his wife.

Amell admits that he was asked to leave a Delta Airlines flight from Austin to Los Angeles on Monday after an argument with his wife Cassandra Jean Amell, but denies that he was forcibly removed from the airplane.

The actor tweeted out on Wednesday, "My wife and I got into an argument Monday afternoon on a Delta flight from Austin to LA. I was asked to lower my voice and I did. Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed. I rebooked myself on a Southwest flight 2 hours later and traveled home without any further issue. I let my emotions get the better of me, end of story. Must be a slow news cycle."

Amell is responding to reports in Page Six that the actor was removed from the flight for drunkenly shouting at his wife, where they alleged "Amell, who was flying Delta from Austin to Los Angeles after attending the ATX Television Festival over the weekend, was removed after a flight attendant asked him multiple times to calm down as he allegedly screamed at Cassandra Jean Amell while appearing drunk.

We’re told an air marshal and three other flight attendants escorted him off the plane. After the incident, Cassandra and her companions stayed on the flight and made their way to LA."

Amell did not respond to the allegations that he was inebriated on the flight. Page Six received a statement from Delta on the issue, with the airline noting, “Delta flight 966 on June 21 took a brief, eight minute departure delay after an unruly customer was deplaned from the aircraft prior to departure in Austin. The flight arrived ahead of schedule at Los Angeles International Airport.”

Amell and his wife, who have been married since 2012 and share a seven-year-old daughter, Maverick Alexandra Jean Amell (who goes by "Mavi"), were in Austin attending the ATX Television Festival, where Cassandra Amell posted on Instagram that they had "a pretty good time."
