Amell is most famous for playing Oliver Queen, also known as Arrow on the CW. He debuted as Arrow's titular superhero in 2012 and continued playing Queen until the show's eighth and final season in 2020. The series spawned numerous spinoffs, which together, form the Arrowverse-- shared television universe containing a number of iconic and lesser known DC superhero adaptations.

While Amell is unlikely to return to the Arrowverse, Arrow will be appear in the upcoming spinoff series, Arrow and the Canaries, with Mia Queen, played by Katherine McNamara, taking up the mantle. She will be accompanied by the Black Canaries: Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Lance and Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance.
