Arrow's eighth and final season has allowed Oliver Queen to reunite with many of the fan-favorite characters introduced throughout the entire Arrowverse series' run. In fact, in a surprise twist, Oliver's adult children from the year 2040 were both transported to the relative present, putting them in direct contact with Team Arrow and their long-lost father.
The CW has released an emotional scene between Oliver and his time-displaced son William Clayton-Queen, with William coming out to his father as homosexual in a tearfully joyful reunion between the two. For longtime star Stephen Amell, the scene was his personal favorite of the DCTV series' final season.
William was conceived years before Oliver became Green Arrow, growing up in secrecy outside of Star City after his mother was paid off by Oliver's mother Moira to leave the city and keep William's existence a secret from Oliver.
Oliver would later discover William after Damien Darhk attempted to use the boy against him, eventually taking William in after the loss of his mother. With Oliver expected to meet his untimely end during the coming "Crisis," the time-traveling reunion gave them a chance to reconnect and bond courtesy of a long-denied emotional conversation between the two men.
Airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Arrow's final season stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, Katie Cassidy as Black Siren, Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak, Joseph David-Jones as Connor Hawke and Ben Lewis as William Clayton-Queen.
