Arrow star Stephen Amell outlined what he wants if he's ever asked to play Oliver Queen in the DC Universe.

Speaking to Geek House Show, the actor noted that while he is open to donning the mask of the superhero again, it would require some specific conditions. "If I'm gonna be a part of the [DC Universe], I'd probably just want to play the Green Arrow in there," Amell said. "If I had to pick one, I'd pick my own movie, only because there's so many things that selfishly I would like to do with Arrow that we couldn't necessarily do on TV."

Amell also noted that while he's yet to be approached by DC Studios, he believes there's always a chance. "I mean, are they still separate?" he asked. "Didn't we have two Flashes in the Arrowverse at one point? So, I don't know. We'll see. Whatever they want." At the time of writing, DC Studios' co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have yet to announce their slate of upcoming DCU movies so it's currently unknown whether Green Arrow is a part of the franchise. Despite this, many fans are convinced there are plans to introduce the Emerald Archer after Gunn admitted that Oliver Queen is one of his favorite superheroes.

Could Amell Return as Green Arrow?

This isn't the first time Amell has spoken about returning to the role of Green Arrow. Ahead of the spinoff series The Flash's finale, the actor was asked whether he'd be open to reprising the part that largely started the entire Arrowverse franchise. "People ask me if I'm going to come back for The Flash final season. I guess you're just going to have to watch," he responded, quickly following it up with "Haven't been asked, but, you know, that'd be fun."

Amell has plenty of experience firing off Oliver Queen's bow having starred in The CW series Arrow for eight seasons. The DC series is credited with being the kicking-off point for the entire Arrowverse, introducing characters that went on to garner their own series and spinoffs. Despite Arrow earning mixed reviews the longer it went on, the franchise remained a fan-favorite right up until its final episode.

Arrow is now streaming on HBO Max.
