Arrow star Stephen Amell admits the first four episodes of the seventh season are physically taxing -- and he has the (fake) bruises to prove it.

Arrow star Stephen Amell suggests the first episodes of Season 7 may be among the most intense and action-packed on the series to date.

Sporting a full beard and battle damage make-up, the actor confessed in a new video, "I've had more physically taxing days in the first four episodes of season seven than I've had for the entirety of certain seasons. Just getting the shit kicked out of me every single day."

When fans last saw Amell's Oliver Queen in Season 6, he had surrendered to the police and was dragged off to prison. The Comic-Con International trailer for the upcoming seventh season made it clear this change of scenery isn't exactly treating him well, given that Green Arrow had a hand in the incarceration of many of his fellow inmates. And judging by how haggard Amell looks in this video, Oliver is in for a rough time all around this season.

Premiering Monday, Oct. 15, Season 7 of Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary and Katie Cassidy as Black Siren.
