The majority of teams in the DC universe see a rotating cast of characters throughout their tenures, featuring a wide variety of personalities. Despite being closely tied to Tim Drake, and a teen hero herself, Stephanie Brown has not been a member of teen teams such as the Teen Titans and Young Justice, and her brief experience with the latter may point to why.

The recent disappearance of Young Justice in Dark Crisis does not seem to have alarmed the greater DC universe, who chalk up their absence to teen angst. Surprisingly, this includes the team's former allies, such as Arrowette, and even Robin's ex-girlfriend, Spoiler. Although she was not a member, Stephanie has a strained history with the team, as in Young Justice #30 (By Peter David, Todd Nauck, Lary Stucker, Jason Wright, and Ken Lopez), she is attacked in a fit of jealousy by Young Justice member, Secret.

Secret and Spoiler Fight In Young Justice #30

Early on, Tim and Stephanie's relationship was full of complications as she continuously expressed romantic interest in him, though he did not reciprocate the feelings. Things were made more complex as Tim knew her secret identity, but she did not know his, a fact that frustrated her. As the two fought alongside one another, Tim began to gain feelings for her, and the two began dating. Robin's relationship with Secret, on the other hand, was much different. Tim viewed her solely as an ally, whereas she had a crush on him that caused her to get unreasonably jealous.

The issue opened with Spoiler trailing Robin with the intent of figuring out his secret identity, though Robin caught her. She expressed her discontent with the one-sided aspects of their relationship before the two parted ways. She returned home, writing in her diary that she would continue to pursue his secret, as things between them could not work out otherwise. The room suddenly grew cold, and a voice taunted her for her immaturity. The voice revealed itself to be Secret, who berated Stephanie for following Tim and invading his privacy. She retaliated by kicking Secret, who then demanded they take the fight outside.

The Fight Between Secret and Spoiler is Ended by Red Tornado in Young Justice #30

The two fight across the city, with Secret pursuing Stephanie across a construction site. She cut an electrical wire in an attempt to slow down her aggressor, which caused Secret to dissolve into thin air. She panicked, thinking she had killed her, however, Secret reappeared and continued her attack. Stephanie questioned Secret's intentions and tried to reason with her but to no avail. She was eventually saved by Red Tornado, who was contacted by Robin after he realized what was transpiring. Following this, Tim arrived and lectured the two about trust (Which the girls find ironic), and the story ends with them agreeing not to fight again.

Stephanie's short fight with Secret seems to have left a lasting impression as she was rarely seen interacting with the members of Young Justice following the event. Even during her time as Robin, Stephanie made no effort to contact the members of the Teen Titans. Her brief experience with Secret could also explain why she does not seem too concerned knowing that Young Justice has disappeared. This is even more strange considering that she was one of the first to search for Tim following the death of Bruce in Final Crisis. As such, fans should not expect Stephanie Brown to join Young Justice any time soon.
