Later this year, Milestone icon Static embarks on what may very will be his most personal battle yet.
At this time, CBR can exclusively reveal the cover artwork and solicitation information for Static: Shadows of Dakota #2 and #3. Written by Vita Ayala and Nikolas Draper-Ivey and illustrated by Draper-Ivey, Shadows of Dakota #2 is slated to hit comic shops on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Issue #3 will follow suit on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The issues follow Virgil Hawkins/Static as he seeks out the leader of a vigilante group hunting down Bang Babies. Among those in the crosshairs is Virgil's friend Quincy, who is beginning to manifest superpowers.
Shadows of Dakota #2 features a main cover by Draper-Ivey, with variant covers by Paris Alleyne and Sanford Green. Meanwhile, issue #3 features variants by Rahzzah and Jamal Campbell. While DC has provided CBR with the latter variants, Draper-Ivey's main cover art for Shadows of Dakota #3 has not yet been revealed.

You Don't Start None There Won't Be None
DC's latest comic book adventure starring Static, Shadows of Dakota is slated to launch with issue #1 on Tuesday, Oct. 4. As announced by Jim Lee and Denys Cowan at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the six-issue limited series serves as a sequel to Static: Season One, which was published from 2021 to 2022 as part of the Milestone Returns initiative.
Written by Vita Ayala and Nikolas Draper-Ivey and illustrated by Draper-Ivey, Static: Shadows of Dakota #2 goes on sale Nov. 1 from DC, followed by issue #3 on Dec. 6.
