WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Shiv, Part One," the latest episode of Stargirl.

The latest episode of Stargirl put Courtney Whitmore in dire straits. In "Shiv, Part One," Stargirl's new nemesis reared her ugly head and the ensuing battle left Courtney badly injured, which is exactly what her stepfather Pat feared would happen. Now, it's up to the new Justice League of America to fight back -- and, according to Wildcat actor Yvette Monreal, the team definitely has Courtney's back.

Speaking to CBR, Monreal promised the JSA will back Courtney up following her defeat at Shiv's hands. She weighed in on Yolanda's relationship with her parents, as well as how that develops over the next few episodes. She also teased Yolanda's upcoming confrontation with Henry King Jr., how religion impacts Wildcat's decision making, her favorite upcoming scene and more.

CBR: At the end of this week's episode, we saw Courtney get beaten pretty bad. Can you tease some of the fallout from that?

Yvette Monreal: Isn't that crazy? Oh my gosh, I feel so bad for her. I can't tease it, but just know that we have Courtney's back and whoever messes with Courtney is gonna get it! Okay? Because nobody messes with my best friend. Nobody!

There's obviously still a lot of tension between Yolanda and Henry Jr., who is developing a few powers of his own. Will we see any resolution to that by the end of the season?

Oh, yeah, that Henry. He really gets on my nerves! Yolanda confronts her past with Henry in Episode 1.09. So, you'll see in the next few episodes. We'll start to learn more about what the ISA is up to and their plans for Blue Valley, but it's to be continued with the whole Henry thing. You know, he hurt me pretty bad. He kind of stabbed me right in the back. So we'll have to wait and see what that one. I have no plans on reconciling with him, but you just never know.

How will we see her relationship with her parents continue to evolve?

When Yolanda goes to her house and she has that conversation with her parents, that was really her time to mend that relationship. She's never had that conversation with them, so now that she knows where they stand, it's kind of like, "Okay, JSA. These are the people I want to be around. This is my family now."

And for now, I think that relationship is just on hold, and I don't think it's getting any better, for a couple episodes. For a few episodes, so we'll just have to wait and see how that relationship develops. But right now, I think her priority is the JSA and just sticking around the people who make her feel good, who are loyal and who just want the best for her, because if not, she's just gonna drown in this depression and we don't want that for Yolanda.

Unlike the other JSA members, Yolanda appears to be pretty religious. How does that factor into the rest of the season?

Well, her religion and her faith is very important to her and I think that it does hold her back from some things. Trying to make sure I'm wording this right, but yeah, her religion and faith does have a huge part in how she handles things and how she goes about things. Church does get referenced to in upcoming episodes, so her religion is touched on throughout. So it does affect the way she handles things and how she decides to pursue things going forward.

But yeah, it'll definitely touch base on that moving forward. You guys will get more glimpses of her and her faith and dealing with circumstances and how her religion is a big factor in her decisions moving forward.

Can you tease your favorite upcoming moment or scene from the series?

My favorite upcoming moment or scene... I would say it's the last episode. Yolanda is great in it, and it's kind of surprising, and they'll just have to wait and see what I'm talking about. But it's a really, really fun moment. It's a fun moment. I think it's a very unexpected moment for Yolanda in episode 13. I can't wait for you guys to see it because you guys are all gonna be shell-shocked.
