By the end of its first season, Stargirl had gone in some bold directions, killing off a number of major characters as the Justice Society of America took on the Injustice Society of America. Moving ahead, there are a lot of mysteries to look forward to with the new series, as well as a change in network.

Here's what we know about Stargirl Season 2 right now, including the project's release date, story, trailer information and more.

What Is Stargirl's Story?

The two-part Season 1 finale of Stargirl saw the Justice Society of America and Injustice Society of America finally go head-to-head. The good guys were able to prevail, as the ISA took a sizable hit with the deaths of Dragon King, Brainwave and Icicle. With the ISA scattered, the Whitmore-Dugan family celebrated a hard-earned victory over a warm family Christmas. But they may soon face an unwelcome visitor, as Pat Dugan's old partner, Sylvester Pemberton/Starman, arrives.

While the ISA is on the ropes, two comic book villains teased in the finale may show the direction Stargirl Season 2 will go. The Shade, a Flash villain who can control shadows, was seen in the ISA's meeting room, laughing at the folly his cohorts underwent. Elsewhere, Cindy went rifling through the Wizard's storage room to find a crystal that contains Eclipso. Though not a corporeal villain, Eclipso has the power to possess the body of those who are angry.
