Fans around the world have been stunned and amazed by season 1 of the DC Universe original series Stargirl. The introduced the legacy of the Justice Society of America (JSA) and the promise of a new generation of heroes. In addition to our heroes, audiences also learned about the menacing threat of the Injustice Society of America (ISA) and the dangers it poses to citizens of Blue Valley and the entire country.

By the end of season 1, Courtney (Brec Bassinger) had led a team of new JSA members including a new Wildcat, Hourman, and Dr. Midnight on a final mission to stop the ISA's New America plan to brainwash a huge section of the United States. When the dust was clearing there was a lot of resolution, but thanks to producer Geoff Johns there is also a slew of new questions to be answered. The following are 10 unanswered questions we have after Season 1 of Stargirl.

10 Dr. Midnight's Goggles

Dr. Midnight-Stargirl-Beth Chapel

Before she met the AI system known as Chuck, Beth Chapel (Anjelika Washington) was a lonely high school student who doted on her highly accomplished parents. But then she met Courtney and learned about the JSA. When she discovered Dr. Midnight's goggles, Beth not only became a new person she found a friend in Chuck.

Chuck is the digital personality of the original Dr. Midnight, Charles McNider. Through Chuck, Beth learned about the history of the JSA. However, the goggles were destroyed during a confrontation with Icicle at the end of season 1. Beth is once again alone and unable to reconnect with her only friend, Chuck. Fans will have to wait until season 2 to see if Courtney can keep her promise to Beth and find a way to bring back Chuck.

9 Who Can 'Cei-U" Say Me?

Stargirl-Johnny Thunder-Thunderbolt

Johnny Thunder is a founding member of the JSA and the master of the wondrous genie Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt was a pink mischievous imp who enjoyed using his powers at the command of his master. Stargirl fans got a hint of his personality when Courtney decided to take mementos from the JSA's abandoned headquarters.

When Courtney picked up a pink pen, an audible giggle could be heard. Throughout season 1 the pen would giggle in different episodes like it was about to do something. Unfortunately, the season wrapped up without an appearance from Thunderbolt or the person who could take the place of Johnny Thunder and command the power of a long-imprisoned genie. If there is one thing that fans are hoping for is that Thunderbolt will finally make an appearance in season 2.

8 Solomon Grundy

Solomon Grundy Rises From Slaughter Swamp

Born on Monday is the first line of the ominous poem that tells the story of Solomon Grundy. Grundy's ability to transcend comics to animation and live-action was compounded when fans learned that Rick Tyler's parents were murdered by the undead behemoth. Rick's anger and unyielding pursuit for revenge led to a climactic showdown in the season finale of Stargirl.

Which is why it might have been a surprise when Rick gained the upper hand, he chose not to fulfill his promise that he would kill Grundy. Instead, when Grundy cowered and refused to strike back, Rick displayed unexpected compassion and chose to let his parent's killer run away. Will Grundy stay away? Could Rick's decision come back to haunt both he and the team he has reluctantly grown attached to?

7 Green Lantern's Light

Stargirl-Alan-Scott Justice Society

Alan Scott was the first Green Lantern. His example preceded the Green Lantern Corps. The appearance of his lantern in JSA headquarters sparked a fire that only grew when Courtney brought home all of the signature pieces of the JSA's founding members.

So far, Hourman, Wildcat, Dr. Midnight, and Starman have had their identities reborn by their successors. But others, like Green Lantern, are still waiting for someone to take up the lantern and recite lantern oath. Geoff Johns is a great storyteller who is willing to keep teasing a big as long as the story needs before a character finally makes a first appearance on the stage. Which means season 2 could see the appearance of a new Green Lantern.

6 Will Mike Join The JSA?

Stargirl-Mike-Dugan

Mike Dugan is the energetic opposite of his father Pat. Where Pat is patient and thoughtful, Mike is impetuous and impulsive. For the most part, this has been advantageous for Courtney and Pat's efforts to conceal the existence and identity of Stargirl. But then Mike started asking questions.

The final episode of Stargirl hinted at the possibility that Mike has known about the JSA for longer than he has been letting on. It's only a matter of time before he becomes involved in the adventures of his dad and step-sister. But, whether that will make him a member of the JSA or just a sidekick like Pat was still remains to be seen.

5 What About Artemis?

Stargirl-Artemis-Crock

Artemis is the daughter of Sportsmaster and Tigress. In the animated Young Justice, Artemis is an archer who turns against her parents and becomes a member of the team. But there is more than one version of Artemis' history and in one version she was an Amazon warrior who challenged Diana in combat.

It seems more likely that Stargirl will follow the Young Justice version of Artemis. In her appearances so far, Artemis is a powerful football player who hits harder than her teammates. However, much like the animated version of her character, if Artemis does join the new JSA she will face heavy scrutiny because of her parents. If she uses her powers to fight for justice, Artemis can become a powerful member of the team.

4 The Shining Knight

Stargirl-Sir-Justin

Sir Justin is a legendary knight of unmatched valor. But on Stargirl, he is a broken warrior who has lost his memory. For most of season 1, Sir Justin swept the halls as a high school janitor.

However, over many episodes, he began to recover his memory. At the end of season 1, Sir Justin set out to find his winged steed. Given his history with the JSA, it would make sense that he would eventually appear in future episodes. But, whether that will mean that he will return in season 2 will depend on if producer Geoff Johns has bigger plans for somewhere further into the story.

3 Wildcat

Stargirl-Wildcat

Yolanda Montez lost her reputation at school when a private picture was shared with the public. Becoming Wildcat allowed Montez to take some control over her life. The difference in her personality and self-worth were immediate.

But the death of her ex-boyfriend Henry King, Jr. by his father, the villain Brainwave, pushed Yolanda to her limits. When given the chance she killed Brainwave. After so much tumult it is impossible to know what or how that decision will impact her future.

2 Barbara Whitmore

Stargirl-Barbara Whitmore

Like Mike Dugan, Barbara Whitmore has been kept in the dark about Pat and Courtney's adventures. But when she walked into the basement and saw the glowing Cosmic Staff, everything changed. When Barbara realized that her boss was the villainous Icicle she found herself fighting to protect her daughter Courtney.

Now Barbara knows that Courtney and Pat are fighting to keep them safe. When push comes to shove, Barbara is willing to risk her life for her family. Looking ahead to season 2, audiences will be watching to see if Barbara chooses to stay on the sidelines or get more involved.

1 Is Starman Alive?

Joel-McHale-Starman-Cosmic Staff

The final scene in season 1 featured the arrival of a man at a house. The man is only seen from the back as he knocks on the door and asks to speak with Pat Dugan. When the camera swings around for the final frame audiences get a glimpse of Joel McHale, the Starman who died in the first episode.

It's only a matter of time before the original Starman finds Stargirl. Now that Courtney knows that her father is not Starman what will his arrival mean for Stargirl and the cosmic staff? How will he explain to Pat and the audience how he died in battle but now he is alive? Questions abound, and only season 2 holds the answers.
