WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "The Justice Society," the latest episode of Stargirl.

Icicle may have passed his powers on to his son.

In "The Justice Society," the latest episode of Stargirl, Jordan Mahkent celebrate his late wife's birthday with his son Cameron. During their evening out together, Cameron showed a hint of ice breath, which suggests he has inherited his father's ice powers.

As revealed in an earlier episode, Catherine Mahkent died of an illness inflicted on her as part of an as-yet unrevealed plot. As such, Cameron grew up without his mom, but her shadow still lingers over both of them. Jordan continues to pursue her dying wish: that he destroy anyone who stands between him and their son's future. Cameron, on the other hand, became a talented artist after she told him to keep drawing on her deathbed.

It is no surprise, then, that Jordan and Cameron make an effort to remember her on her birthday. In "The Justice Society," they visited a diner together for some father-son time. Their waitress overheard them talking about a birthday, so she assumed one of them was celebrating and brought over a slice of cake. She quickly realized her mistake and apologized, but left it behind for them to enjoy.

When the waitress left, Jordan pushed the cake towards Cameron. "Go ahead," he said with a sad smile. "Make a wish. For her."

Cameron leaned over the cake, thinking. Then, with a deep breath, he blew out the candle -- but his breath had a blue tint to it, and it crackled like ice when it hit the warm air. Though it wasn't an overt hint, this could certainly be a tease of things to come. After all, Cameron takes after his father and becomes the villain Icicle Jr. in the comics. However, he has proved himself to be a kindhearted boy so far, even going so far as to paint flowers on Yolanda's locker after someone gratified it to mock her.

And Cameron may not be the only Blue Valley High School student developing powers. The previous episode showed Henry King Jr. beginning to experience telepathy, a gift passed down to him by his father Brainwave. Likewise, "The Justice Society" showed off some of Artemis Crock's skills; she doesn't have powers, like her parents Tigress and Sportsmaster, but they definitely trained her well enough to take after them. All three Injustice Society children have the potential to become villains themselves, although Henry and Artemis have taken heroic turns in the comics. That leaves Cameron with a grim future, indeed.

DC Universe's Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl) and Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan (S.T.R.I.P.E.). The series airs Monday on DC Universe and Tuesdays on The CW at 8 pm ET/PT.
