The first look at Eclipso has arrived, proving Season 2 of Stargirl will feature a comics-accurate DC villain.

TV Line revealed the first look at the comic book rogue teased at the end of Season 1. Played by Nick Tarabay, Eclipso is a mystical being who feeds off of the worst of humanity. As the outlet describes him, Eclipso is "an ancient entity of corruption and vengeance, who is described as physically imposing and frightening. Brimming with a cold, terrifying darkness, Eclipso exploits the flaws of others, reveling in the impure and sinful, sadistically feeding off the dark side of humanity." Check out the first image of the character below.

Eclipso will serve as one of the main villains of Season 2, facing off against the Justice Society of America. The ancient life form has long been trapped in a blue gem that was controlled by the Injustice Society of America. But since Shiv stole the gem at the end of Season 1, it looks as if Eclipso will be unleashed before long. The character was created by Bob Haney and Lee Elias and made his first comic debut in 1963's House of Secrets #61.

Tarabay's casting was first announced last October. The actor previously played Captain Boomerang in the Arrowverse, so he's well-versed at playing a DC villain. He'll be joined by The Shade, played by Jonathan Cake (who portrayed Blackbeard on Legends of Tomorrow), an English immortal with shadow-based powers. Though the character debuted as a thief and villain in 1944's Flash Comics #33, he's been reinvented over the years. Finally, John Wesley Shipp will reprise his role as the Flash of Earth-2 for flashback scenes involving the original JSA.
