Hina Khan has been cast in a reccurring role in DC Universe's new original series Stargirl.
Deadline reports Khan, best known for her role in Hit the Floor, will play an as-yet undisclosed role "who is known to be a Principal" in the new series. Khan will join Brec Bassinger, who plays the titular Stargirl, in this new re-imagining of the origin of the very first superhero team ever in comics: the Justice Society of America.
Khan has also been cast in the upcoming anthology horror series Creepshow, inspired by the horror classic by George Romero (Dawn of the Dead) and Stephen King (Pet Semetary, IT).
Stargirl is only one of the ever-growing list of original DC Universe series. It will join Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing and more as part of the ever growing catalog of superhero entertainment on the streaming service. For fans interested in learning more about Stargirl and the Justice Society of America, DC Universe's expanding catalog of comics has recently added a great deal of Golden and Silver Age comics, which feature the origins of the JSA.
Arriving in 2020, DC Universe's Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl), Joel McHale as Sylvester Pemberton (Starman), Brian Stapf as Ted Grant (Wildcat), Lou Ferringo Jr. as Rex Tyler (Hourman) and Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman, with Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal and Christopher James Baker as undisclosed DC characters.
