Known for crafting diverse and immersive worlds, developer Bethesda Game Studios doesn't seem to be making an exception for Starfield, as the studio's publisher recently shared over a dozen pieces of concept art for the upcoming sci-fi RPG.

Publisher Bethesda Softworks unveiled a total of thirteen pieces of Starfield concept art during the Skyrim 10th Anniversary Fan Celebration & Concert live stream, teasing a variety of alien landscapes, futuristic cities and starships. Set to the orchestral tune of 'Starfield Suite' performed by composer Inon Zur, the concept art spans everything from dense jungles and expansive deserts to sprawling cityscapes and seedy backstreets, with a slight animation adding a sense of grandeur to the imaginative images.

Though most of the concept art shown in the presentation was new, several pieces previously made appearances in Starfield's "Settled Systems" trailer, where design director Emil Pagliarulo provided fans with an overview of the game's storyline and the various factions that appear throughout it. Set in the year 2330, Starfield takes place within an area of the Milky Way galaxy called The Settled Systems. The game takes place 20 years after the two largest factions, the United Colonies and Freestar Collective, settled into an "uneasy peace" following the "bloody Colony War."

Meanwhile, players control a character from a faction of explorers called "Constellation," who venture into the "deepest reaches of the Settled Systems" to uncover the "mysteries of the galaxy." Along the way, players will more than likely encounter members from both major factions as well as from smaller groups such as mercenaries, pirates, spacers and fanatical religious zealots. Further details remain sparse at the moment, with gameplay having yet to be officially unveiled.

Starfield game director and longtime Bethesda executive, Todd Howard, elaborated on the size of the game's story, revealing its script to have more than 150,000 lines of recorded dialogue from over 300 voice actors. As such, Starfield far surpasses the scripts for Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which had 111,000 and 60,000 lines of recorded dialogue, respectively.

Developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, Starfield will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC on Nov. 11, 2022. The game will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on the same day.
