A trailer for Bethesda's upcoming sci-fi RPG, Starfield, leaked online ahead of the 2021 Xbox/Bethesda E3 showcase.

From Bethesda Gaming Studios, the developer behind Skyrim and Fallout 4, the trailer reveals that Starfield will release on Nov. 11, 2022. Though the trailer leaked early, it was confirmed by Bethesda at the E3 showcase on June 13. According to The Washington Post, the RPG will be available exclusively on PC and Xbox Series X|S.

The trailer introduces "a brand new universe 25 years in the making," taking the viewer inside a ship referred to as "Constellation." As the pilot walks through the ship, a voiceover states, "You're part of Constellation now, part of our family." It continues: "We've come to the beginning of humanity's final journey. That's why we're here, to discover what's out there.

Speaking to The Washington Post, Todd Howard, executive producer and game director at Bethesda Softworks, said, "Starfield is our first new universe in over 25 years. It's a game we've dreamt of playing, and it's only now that we have the hardware, the technology, and the experience to push our creative boundaries even further."

Howard continued, "Starfield is a next-generation role-playing game where you'll be who you want, go where you want, experience our stories, and forge your own. More than that, Starfield is about hope, our shared humanity, and searching for the answers to life's greatest mysteries."

Bethesda first announced Starfield in 2018 with a teaser trailer that showcased a small portion of what gamers could expect from the sci-fi epic, though rumors about the game had been swirling since 2013.
