After meeting Willy, Stardew Valley players will get their first fishing rod and a great way to make consistent money throughout the game. No matter how great your mastery of fishing is, though, you'll still need to step up your game to catch the Legendary Fish. The first clue comes when players uncover a Lost book called "Secrets of the Legendary Fish," which will give them hints about catching Stardew Valley's five Legendary Fish.

All five of the Legendary Fish -- Legend, Crimsonfish, Angler, Glacierfish and Mutant Carp -- can prove their own challenges, but catching them all is necessary for 100 percent completion. Here's a guide for catching the five Legendary Fish.

How to Catch the Legendary Fish Easily

It's generally recommended to reach fishing level 10 before attempting to catch Stardew Valley's Legendary Fish. While some of the easier ones might be possible, they'll be significantly more difficult and thus require a greater time commitment. Players can also eat Trout Soup to increase their fishing ability, which will make things easier. Using the Iridium Rod and equipping it with both bait and a Trap or Cork Bobber is recommended.

Identifying the Legendary Fish isn't too hard. All of them have crowns on the fishing screen. So if one isn't trying to catch anything other than the Legendary Fish, they should just exit out of the fishing screen.

As an additional note, when doing Qi's Extended Family challenge, players will need to catch the Son of Crimsonfish, Ms. Angler, Legend II, Glacierfish Jr. and Radioactive Carp in three days. All of them are available at the the same location as their predecessors. However, neither the weather nor season matter this time around.

Where to Catch Legend in Stardew Valley

The Legend is by far the hardest of the five to catch. On a rainy day in Spring with level 10 fishing, go to the Mountain Lake. Catching the Legend requires casting at least five tiles away from land or bridge. The easiest way to catch it is thus to try and cast at the fallen log in the lower-right part of the lake. It's unlikely players will be able to catch the Legend in their first season.

Where to Catch Crimsonfish in Stardew Valley

Crimsonfish can be caught in the Summer. Weather does not matter. To catch the Crimsonfish, cast at least three tiles from the East Pier on the Beach, which the player unlocks by paying 300 pieces of wood to fix the footbridge. The Crimsonfish becomes available once the player has level 5 fishing.

Where to Catch Angler in Stardew Valley

The Angler is available in Fall and weather, once again, does not matter. Cast from the bridge above JojaMart. It's a pretty easy fish to catch overall and only requires level 3 fishing.

Where to Catch Glacierfish in Stardew Valley

In Winter and with level 6 fishing, go to the bottom of Arrowhead Island in Cindersap Forest. Like with the Angler and Crimsonfish, the weather doesn't matter. Cast as far as possible and get at least four tiles away from any land.

Where to Catch Mutant Carp in Stardew Valley

The Mutant Carp can be caught at any time, regardless of weather, season or time. Head to the Sewers, which are unlocked after giving 60 artifacts to Gunther, and cast into the water.
