Adidas recently announced a new version of its popular Stan Smith sneaker inspired by Jedi Master Yoda as part of its ongoing partnership with Lucasfilm.

Being released as part of the Adidas Originals x Star Wars collection, the new Yoda shoe is constructed of white and Primegreen leather uppers and consists of a minimum of 40% recycled material, according to Sneaker News. The sneaker also boasts the perforated Three Stripes featured on all Stan Smith designs and Yoda’s face embossed on the green heel tab, as well as his iconic quotes from The Empire Strikes Back, "THERE IS NO TRY," printed in gold foil on the lateral side. The shoe's design is made complete with a light beige midsole inspired by the neutral shade of Yoda's robe.

Adidas rekindled its relationship with Lucasfilm and Star Wars in 2014 leading up to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In the years since, the Adidas Originals x Star Wars collection has grown to include a variety of shoes, joggers, hoodies and other athleisure wear items centered on characters from the Skywalker saga.

The Yoda-themed Stan Smith is the latest addition to Adidas' collection celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, following the recent debut of the Boba Fett high tops and the Luke Skywalker-inspired Stan Smith. It's also the second Yoda-themed shoe released by Adidas after last year's Yoda-themed UltraBOOST. Additionally, the Adidas website currently features sneakers inspired by The Mandalorian, Lando Calrissian, Darth Vader and C-3PO, among other fan-favorite characters.

The Yoda Stan Smith sneaker is joining Adidas' Primegreen "Character Pack" collection, which consists of special edition sneakers inspired by animated characters in hues of green. That collection also includes sneakers inspired by Kermit the Frog and Toy Story’s Rex. The Yoda Stan Smith retails for $120 and will be available on the official Adidas website and select retail stores later this month.

Fittingly, the Yoda Stan Smith was announced just two weeks after the character made his first appearance in the Star Wars: The High Republic comic series. In Star Wars: The High Republic #1, a much younger version of the Jedi Master shows up to promote Jedi Avar Kriss to her new position as a marshal of the Starlight Beacon space station. Star Wars: The High Republic #1, by Cavan Scott, Ario Anindito, Mark Morales, Annalisa Leoni & VC's Ariana Maher, is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
