Everyone knows about the powerful Force users like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda in the Star Wars universe. What about those who are connected to the Force that aren't talked about as much, or are just less adept at how to use it?

Most casual fans associate The Force with its obvious (and coolest) elements, like lightsabers and Force Lightning. But, there are many other ways it can manifest itself in Force users. Sometimes, their gifts didn’t include great battle skills, despite their special connection to The Force.

10 Coleman Trebor’s Lameness Was The Subject Of Many Memes

Jedi master coleman trebor in star wars

Coleman Trebor was a dinosaur-like Jedi Knight who appeared briefly in Attack Of The Clones. Clearly more of a diplomat than a seasoned warrior, he went after Count Dooku during the Battle of Geonosis. It would be his last mistake.

Somehow, his Force sensitivity wasn’t sensitive enough to warn him of an impending attack at close range by Jango Fett, who has no connection to The Force. Trebor was also clearly not able to deflect shots from a blaster with his lightsaber like most other Jedi.

9 Bolla Ropal Wasn’t A Talented Enough Seer To Foresee An Invasion

Cad Bane tortures Jedi Master Bolla Ropal to Make Him Cooperate

Bolla Ropal was a Jedi Master and General during the Clone Wars, but even he acknowledged that he was not so strong with the Force. He had clairvoyant abilities as a seer, but they told him nothing of Cad Bane and his invasion of Devaron.

It was a terrible oversight that eventually resulted in his death. Bane’s own dossier listed Ropal’s abilities as “in question." Unfortunately, he was guarding the Kyber memory crystal, which Bane was able to steal via its holocron.

8 Bene Was Quickly Dispatched By Vader

Vader kills Bene while duelling Cin Drallig

It was Padawan vs. Sith Lord, and there was never any question who would win when the newly installed Darth Vader executed Order 66 during the siege of the Jedi Temple. Bene, though, could have done better.

She’d been studying swordsmanship, but barely managed to get in a decent swing of her lightsaber before Vader made short work of it. Then, he strangled her with one hand, while using his other– and a weapon– to fight off Drallig. She was clearly not any kind of threat at all.

7 Knox Was Brave, But His End Was Swift

Knox - Star Wars Clone Wars

Knox was a Pawadan, a Nautolan, and the apprentice to Jedi Master Halsey during the Clone Wars. When Devaron was invaded, and the Separatist battle droids attacked the Temple of Eedit, he joined his Master in defending it. They were successful, but only until Sith apprentice Savage Opress arrived on the scene.

Both died, but Knox’s end was brutal and quick, suggesting he wasn’t very strong with The Force to begin with. His master even warned him not to engage with Opress, knowing his essential weakness.

6 Sha'a Gi Is An Academic, Not A Fighter

Shaa Gi Star Wars

Sha'a Gi is a Jedi on Hypori, under Jedi Master Daakman Barrek, when it comes under attack by General Grievous. Never having encountered him before, the Jedi are confused when their fight with an invasion of B2 super battle droids goes into a pause.

That's when Grievous broadcasts his message: "I will grant you a warrior's death. Prepare!" Sha'a Gi runs out to attack him in the open, where he is promptly crushed by Grievous' metal frame, something he clearly never saw coming.

5 Agen Kolar Was No Help Against Palpatine

agen-kolar-jedi

Agen Kolar was a Jedi Knight, and reportedly skilled with a lightsaber, but he wasn’t much help at all when Mace Windu took him and three other Jedi to arrest Chancellor Palpatine– who they just realized was the Sith Lord Darth Sidious.

Now, Mace Windu was clearly a more powerful Jedi, but still, it seems like Agen could barely put up any fight at all. He was the first to take Palpatine’s red lightsaber to the gut. How did he get to be a Jedi to begin with?

4 Saesee Tiin Also Failed To Help Against Palpatine/Darth Sidious

Saesee Tiin piloting a starfighter in Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Saesee Tiin was an Iktotchi– the Jedi Knight with the horns curving down either side of his face. Said to be skilled with a lightsaber and a pilot, he'd fought in the Clone Wars as a General of the Grand Army. He was supposed to be a legendary warrior, and had advanced psychic abilities.

Yet, as another one of the ill-fated party send to apprehend Palpatine, he made no impression at all. He wasn’t the first to go down, but he was a quick second, and none of his abilities seemed to make a difference.

3 Aayla Secura’s Force Sense Completely Failed Her

Aayla Secura holds her blue lightsaber during a battle in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

Aayla Secura seems to be acting as a qualified and capable general in The Clone Wars tv series. The Rutian Twi'lek and Jedi Master fought in many battles alongside her clone soldiers. She wielded a blue lightsaber, and was known for her athletic dueling skills.

That makes it all the more puzzling when, in Revenge of the Sith when Order 66 was enacted, she seemed to give up without even a hint of a fight, and obviously no precognition at all about the disaster that was about to strike.

2 Barriss Offee Was Weak With Both The Force & The Dark Side

Barriss Offee fights Anakin Skywalker

Barriss Offee was trained as a Force Healer, but the Mirialan Jedi Knight became disillusioned from the Jedi Order, despite a friendship with Ahsoka Tano. She decided to bom the Jedi Temple, and even framed her former friend Tano for it before she was discovered by Anakin Skywalker.

So, she never fully realized her Jedi gifts, and then went over to the Dark Side, but wasn't very effective in that role either, as it turns out. She may have had more potential, but seems to have wasted it.

1 Shaak Ti Inexplicably Continued To Meditate Until Darth Vader Found Her

Shaak Ti flanked by Clones

Shaak Ti, a Togruta Jedi Master and member of the Jedi High Council, was said to be wise and patient— qualities that came into good use when she supervised the training of clone cadets on Kamino. She took part in many battles and fought well.

That makes it an even bigger blow when she failed to find out the mystery behind the inhibitor chips on the clones: The secret of Order 66. Instead of fighting back during the siege of the Jedi Temple, she just meditated until Vader came along to kill her.
