Viewers who might've already binged the recently released first season of Star Wars: Visions and are hungrily awaiting more may want to temper their expectations as a second season of the Disney+ anime anthology series is not guaranteed.

When asked by CNET if Star Wars: Visions Season 2 can be expected, the show's executive producer, James Waugh, replied, "I think we would love to do more Star Wars: Visions, we'll have to assess the reaction and what the fandom wants." Although Waugh admitted the future of Visions is currently up in the air, he did express optimism for the show's return, adding, "[Producer Kanako Shirasaki] and I are probably incredibly biased; we love these shorts and really do think that this is such a great framing for Star Wars."

Star Wars: Visions is a nine-episode compilation of short stories animated by some of the anime industry's leading studios, like Trigger (Kill La Kill) and Production IG (Ghost in the Shell). All nine episodes are available dubbed or with subtitles, with a star-studded cast for both the English and Japanese versions -- such as Simu Liu (Shang Chi) and David Harbour (Stranger Things) in English and Yuichi Nakamura (Jujutsu Kaisen) and Megumi Han (Hunter X Hunter) in Japanese.

Although some fans may be disappointed to learn the anthology's stories have been confirmed to be non-canon, the producers did address the possibility of Visions eventually making its way into Star Wars lore, with Waugh saying during the same interview, "I have no doubt that we will see things that were in Visions become part of the fabric of Star Wars over the next decades."
