A new series of posters has been unveiled to celebrate the release of Star Wars: Visions on Disney+.

On Sept. 22, the anime anthology series Star Wars: Visions debuted on Disney+. It is composed of nine different short films that vary in length and subject. For the first official Star Wars anime, seven top studios were brought in to tell their own stories, including Trigger, Geno Studio, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G. and others. Now, Star Wars: Visions producer Kanako Shirasaki has stepped forward with new promotional posters that highlight each entry in the series.

Shirasaki provided her own commentary on the posters, touching upon the visual motifs and how they reflect the core values of the different anime. When speaking upon Trigger's "The Twins," Shirasaki said, "Contrasting the colorful style of the episode, this silhouette of the Twin Star Destroyer on a starfield powerfully tells us the theme of the story." Elsewhere, Shirasaki pointed out how Kara from Production I.G.'s "The Ninth Jedi" is reflected through that episode's poster, saying, "The artwork embodies her will, strength, and potential. The light that emerges symbolizes her connection to the Force, which gets stronger during the episode."

To fully realize Star Wars: Visions' adventures, Disney assembled an all-star cast of voice talent. In addition to the return of Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, the series features Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lucy Liu, Bobby Moynihan, Neil Patrick Harris, Simu Liu, David Harbour, George Takei and Henry Golding. Since Star Wars: Visions was released with both English and Japanese dubs, the cast also include anime voice-acting icons Masako Nozawa, Akio Otsuka, Junya Enoki and Asami Seto.

However, what makes Star Wars: Visions unlike any other Star Wars project is that each installment has its own canon. Each episode is self-contained and requires no prior knowledge in order for fans to become engaged with the property. Unlike Marvel's What If...?, which told alternative takes on existing characters, almost every tale in Star Wars: Visions is completely original. This distinction allowed the anime studios to have free reign with their stories, giving them their unique visions.

At this time, it is unclear if Star Wars: Visions will receive a second season. Executive producer James Waugh insists that the future of the series depends on how audiences react to the existing episodes. Beyond that, fans can look forward to Star Wars: Ronin: A Visions Novel, a new novel set before the events of "The Duel" by Kamikaze Douga. The book is written by Emma Mieko Candon and will be available on Oct. 12.
