Star Wars has reportedly added another project to its long list of in-development titles, and given it an unusual working title.
Titled 'Grammar Rodeo,' the unknown project was reported by Bespin Bulletin, citing a posting in Production Weekly. No further details regarding the project were included, other than that it was due to start filming in June.
It's far from uncommon for projects to be assigned a working title, even ones that have been formally announced. Ahsoka, the upcoming Disney+ limited series starring Rosario Dawson, was recently revealed to have the working title of 'Stormcrow,' and the currently filming Season 3 of The Mandalorian is called 'Buccaneer.'
Beyond that series, fans of a galaxy far, far, away have plenty to look forward to over the next year alone, with projects in production spanning the entire franchise. The long-awaited Obi-Wan Kenobi series will debut on Disney+ on May 25, bringing Ewan McGregor back as the title character for the first time since 2005. McGregor said returning to Star Wars was a "great experience" and praised the series director, Deborah Chow, for her knowledge of all things Star Wars. "She really knows the Star Wars world, inside out, far more than I do," he said.
Also scheduled for later in 2022 is Andor, a show focusing on Diego Luna's Rogue One character Cassian Andor. Although no premiere date has been set, according to actor Stellan Skarsgard, the show has already been renewed for a second season. "We start with Dune 2 in July. And then in the autumn, it's time for the second season of the Star Wars series Andor," he said of his filming schedule. While both of these projects are near completion, there are several more Star Wars series in the works in their early stages.
The Acolyte, a "mystery-thriller" from Leslye Headland, the creator of Netflix's Russian Doll, is another announced project. Set in the closing days of the High Republic era, the show will feature "a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers." Reports suggest that The Hunger Games' Amandla Stenberg will take on the lead role.
A limited event series focusing on Lando Calrissian is also in the works, with rumors suggesting that Donald Glover will reprise his role as Lando in Solo: A Star Wars Story. When asked about Lando, Glover's Solo co-star Emilia Clarke was excited by the project, but denied any involvement. "I've heard nothing. Absolutely nothing," she said. "But a Lando show makes so much sense; give that man his own show! Yes!" Justin Simien, the writer and director of Dear White People is currently attached to Lando as its developer.
