Star Wars has continued to expand its universe in recent years thanks to popular streaming shows like The Mandalorian. With many other shows on the way, the expansion doesn't look like it will slow down anytime soon. Since these shows have brought back beloved characters like Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett and Cad Bane, there is the potential for Disney+ to reintroduce other popular characters to the limelight in their TV universe.

There are multiple characters that fans have hoped to see again on streaming, and many of these characters still have unfinished stories. Having them appear in Disney+ shows can allow writers to give them the treatments they deserve and give audiences more time with their favorite heroes and villains.

Luke Skywalker

Since the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, Luke Skywalker has returned to prominence in the Star Wars universe, but he has played a relatively minor role so far. However, audiences can now see what the Jedi Master has done in the 30-year gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. This warrants Luke getting his own series, possibly one in which he takes down the remnants of the Empire and begins the New Jedi Order.

This kind of series can also further explore what led to Luke giving up on the Jedi and turning away from the Force. Audiences were understandably shaken by Luke's drastic character change in The Last Jedi. Still, a more gradual exploration of his character beforehand could allow audiences to better understand how he became such a different person.

Mara Jade

Mara Jade remains one of the most beloved characters from Star Wars Legends. Initially a hand to Emperor Palpatine, she was first seen seeking vengeance against Luke Skywalker for killing her master. However, she and Luke eventually grew to trust each other, and Mara Jade decided to train as a Jedi, married Luke, and birthed his son, Ben.

Since Luke Skywalker has made prominent appearances in shows taking place after the fall of the Empire, audiences could finally see Mara Jade become part of the Star Wars canon as Disney adapts her post-Empire journey. Not only would she be an excellent addition to the franchise, but adapting her infamous death could be another reason why Luke turned his back on the Jedi and went into hiding.

Darth Maul

This horned Sith Lord has been a fan favorite since he debuted in The Phantom Menace, and he continued to have a presence in the Star Wars universe long after surviving his loss on Naboo. He was last revealed in cinemas as the leader of the criminal syndicate, Crimson Dawn, in Solo: A Star Wars Story. However, the failure this film faced in theaters has left the story that ending set up unresolved.

So far, Disney+ has created shows taking place after the fall of the Empire, but with the Obi-Wan prequel series coming out soon, the franchise looks open to exploring the galaxy through multiple time periods. Perhaps Obi-Wan will encounter Maul once again in this series as the leader of Crimson Dawn.

Grand Admiral Thrawn

As one of the most memorable villains from Star Wars Legends, Thrawn was unsurprisingly introduced into the franchise canon in Star Wars Rebels. His villainous cunning and threatening intellect have made him one of the greatest threats to the galaxy, and fans would undoubtedly enjoy seeing him return to terrorize it.

Though Thrawn disappeared at the end of Rebels, his character was mentioned to be alive in "Chapter 13" of The Mandalorian. This name-drop opens the door for him to appear later in the series. He could even become the big bad of the Star Wars "Mando-verse."

Ezra Bridger

As the protagonist of Star Wars Rebels, Ezra Bridger grew ever-popular amongst fans of the franchise, and his fate at the end of the show leaves him open to return. Ezra disappeared with Thrawn when the latter's Star Destroyer was dragged through hyperspace to parts unknown in the series finale.

Since Ahsoka Tano was an essential character in Ezra's journey, the former's upcoming series has the chance to see her reunite with Ezra. Furthermore, as Ahsoka worked alongside Luke Skywalker, Ezra could also be given the opportunity to join Luke in reviving the Jedi Order.

Qi'ra

Qi'ra in Solo A Star Wars Story

Han Solo's former love interest was last seen in Solo taking over Dryden Vos's position in the Crimson Dawn syndicate. She betrayed Han and left for the planet Dathomir under the command of Darth Maul. She has since led Crimson Dawn in the hopes of overthrowing Palpatine and taking control of the galaxy.

Disney has the chance to bring Qi'ra back as an antagonist in shows like The Mandalorian that take place after Palpatine's disappearance. With Palpatine out of the picture and his Empire in shambles, she can attempt to rise up and become the galaxy's new leader.

Finn

Although Finn was one of the most well-received characters in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, he was gradually driven to the sidelines as the films focused more on Rey and Kylo Ren. This course of action was criticized by some people, including Finn actor, John Boyega. His character deserves a much better treatment, which could be provided in his own series.

The Rise of Skywalker implied that Finn was Force-sensitive, which opened the door for him to train as a Jedi, but the trilogy ended before he could do so. A solo miniseries focusing on Finn becoming a Jedi could give him the spotlight he richly deserves. It could even revive his much-better received character arc in Colin Trevorrow's canceled script for Episode IX, which showed him leading people in a revolution against the First Order.

Rose Tico

Like John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran was wrongfully sidelined after her debut as Rose in The Last Jedi. However, after being forced off Instagram due to a wave of online attacks, the poor decision of the filmmakers in giving Rose only 60 seconds of screen time in The Rise of Skywalker became apparent.

If Disney decides to give Finn his own series, Rose can accompany him on his adventures once again. Both characters worked well as a team in The Last Jedi. Giving them another exciting adventure together could allow them and their relationship to grow even more.
