Kanan Jarrus is a beloved character in Star Wars and fans were thrilled when he made an appearance in Star Wars: The Bad Batch as an apprentice. This was right before Order 66 happened and viewers watched in horror as the clones turned on Kanan and his master. While he did escape the slaughter of Order 66, it's likely he'll appear again in The Bad Batch before the events of Star Wars RebelsSeeing what Kanan was like before he met the crew of The Ghost and how he survived in the cruel environment of the Empire would be very interesting to fans.

Kanan aka Caleb Dume was a Jedi apprentice when Order 66 happened. His master was killed in front of him, and he ran away from the clones. Hunter and Crosshair followed him, but Hunter let him escape. Years later, he would go onto lead an important Rebel cell, become a Jedi Knight, and train a new Jedi, Ezra Bridger. Kanan was blinded while fighting Darth Maul, but he regained his sight in his last moments of life, before sacrificing himself to save his crew. Many fans love Kanan and his story, and giving more context to his life before Rebels would certainly be a bonus.

A little bit is known about Kanan's life before the events of Rebels, since it was featured in the novel A New Dawn. This book takes place six years before Rebels, so that would be roughly 12-14 years after the events of The Bad Batch Season One, which leaves lots of room for Kanan to appear in The Bad Batch without disturbing the current canon. After the destruction of Kamino, Clone Force 99 will likely be hiding again, since clones will be an even bigger target. Though much of the plot for Season Two is unknown, The Bad Batch will have to make decisions regarding the Empire's rise. During their travels, Hunter could spot Kanan and want to help him as a way of redeeming the clones.

It's likely that Kanan wouldn't accept help from them, in fact quite the opposite. Even in Rebels, Kanan dislikes clones and has a hard time trusting them. This may lead The Bad Batch to helping Kanan either through Omega, or without his knowledge. Kanan could have an Inquisitor after him and The Bad Batch help to stop the Inquisitor, or Kanan could be in trouble with the local authorities and they help him get out of that bind. While the situation in which they meet Kanan again needs to make sense, it's less important than seeing how he has been surviving.

Many Star Wars fans want to know everything about a character. They want to explore every aspect of their lives so that they can follow their story from start to finish. Showing Kanan in very small doses throughout The Bad Batch could allow fans to get snapshots of his life leading up to Rebels. This would give people the satisfaction of seeing how his story is playing out, without dedicating a whole series, book or comic to those years between The Bad Batch and Rebels.

The Bad Batch has ample room to tell a ton of interesting stories and bring in some fun characters. While Kanan has an extensive story told in Star Wars Rebels, this show leaves room to fill out a very unknown part of his life. While Star Wars has been creating a lot of Jedi who survived Order 66, it rarely shows how they lived under the rule of the Empire. The Bad Batch has the unique opportunity to show how a young apprentice was able to remain undetected and unharmed for so many years.
