A new image for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has revealed an array of new characters, vehicles and spaceships. The Star Wars Direct Twitter account debuted the image, which appears to mostly depict the forces of The First Order, including Kylo Ren and a new batch of Stormtroopers bristling with weapons.RELATED: Marvel's Star Wars Fixes 'The Force Awakens' Most Unforgivable MistakeThe new image seems to exclusively depict antagonists. Kylo Ren looms over the Third Reich-esque troops of the First Order, the cracks in his repaired mask gleaming a sinister red. A majority of the characters are the new Sith Troopers, their bright red armor matching the suffusion of red-orange light glimmering throughout the scene. Imperial Guard look on while wielding sinister metallic weaponry, and a Star Destroyer along with TIE fighters soar in from above. A garish sun illuminates the scene as Ren's lightsaber crosses with a Jedi lightsaber blade. Towards the bottom of the image is a caped trooper lifting a hefty blaster as Tie fighters and speeders fly swiftly between them.

The layout of this image is in relation to an opposing promotional piece found in the Star Wars Insider magazine depicting all of the heroes of the Resistance, with Rey at the hilt of her own lightsaber in a ferocious clash against the Sith Lord. On the side of the Light there is a contrasting suffusion of blue light, with Rei illuminated in a blue circle of light as the Resistance carries on towards the First Order. The Millenium Falcon soars down while Poe Damaran and Chewbacca surge onwards. Towards the bottom the viewer sees BB-8 and another droid, as well as classic Resistance and Rebellion battleships like the Y-Wing, A-Wing and the iconic X-Wing. A bounty hunter character in red tights and a gleaming gold helmet stands at the ready with Lando Calrissian not far behind.
