The final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has arrived in a galaxy near you.

During ESPN's Monday Night Football, Disney dropped the new trailer for the final film in the Skywalker saga. The movie will be the final chapter in the story that began in 1977's Star Wars: A New Hope, which saw Luke Skywalker confront his father Darth Vader and the Empire behind him to save the galaxy. Now, following Luke's death and the rise of the tyrannical First Order, a new Jedi named Rey will rise to meet the threat of Kylo Ren, the last of the Skywalker lineage.

The first footage from the film teased the return of Emperor Palpatine to the Star Wars Universe after his apparent death at the end of Return of the Jedi. A sizzle reel at D23 then teased Rey going to the Dark Side, though whether that will actually happen or not remains to be seen.

Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E.
