Although footage from Disney+'s upcoming live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian was screened exclusively for those in attendance at April's Star Wars Celebration Chicago, fans from across the rest of the galaxy far, far away have been eagerly anticipating their own first look at the show. Thankfully, that wait appears to be coming to an end.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first trailer for The Mandalorian will premiere on August 23 at Walt Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. However, as with the aforementioned behind-the-scenes footage, it's worth noting that it's hardly outside Disney's wheelhouse to maintain an aura of exclusivity before eventually releasing such things to the public. In fact, the studio did just that with the first look at Avengers: Infinity War, which was screened at Comic-Con International in San Diego and D23 in the summer of 2017 before the trailer made its official debut that following November.
That being said, with just three months until The Mandalorian premieres, it seems more likely than not that the footage will make its way online sooner rather than later.
Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. The series debuts Nov. 12 on Disney+, the same date as the streaming service's official launch.
