After appearing in an overhead shot alongside Kylo Ren in last month's first trailer, we now have our best look yet at the First Order's formidable fleet of snowtroopers from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The image, which was released by Empire, shows the troopers storming into a breach on what appears to be the small mineral planet of Crait. The planet was once home to a Rebel Alliance outpost but in The Last Jedi, it's a safe-haven for the Resistance and the site of a massive battle between them and the First Order.

Snowtroopers first appeared in The Force Awakens and were seen on the Starkiller base when it was attacked by the Resistance. Much like the Galactic Empire's cold weather assault troopers, the snowtroopers wear advanced insulated armor with heating controls, as well as helmets with specialized slits that help reduce the glare of icy terrain.
