Fans juggling whether or not to watch the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer needn’t worry about apocalyptic spoilers. According to Rian Johnson, the film’s director, his prior warning was largely targeted at viewers who wanted to go into the film 100% pure and unsullied by even the slightest hint of the film’s story. Overall, though? You’re fine. Here's the original tweet, though:

Johnson has since gone back on his original wording and clarified that the hubbub about the amount of spoilers in the trailer was blown out of proportion.

"That wording is misleading - I said IF you want to come in totally 100% clean, avoid the trailer," Johnson said in a Twitter response to Entertainment Weekly about the director's original tweet.

Johnson’s words were interpreted by some as him saying that fans should stay away from the trailer, which he adamantly denies. It seems much of his hesitation came from his own personal tendency to watch trailers for films he’s excited about, as well as his respect for fans who are able to avoid the ubiquitous storm of trailers and teasers that herald most major Hollywood releases.

Debuting in theaters on Dec. 15, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a production of Lucasfilm Ltd. Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio del Toro.
