Ahead of her appearance on The Ellen Show, Laura Dern took to Instagram to share a brand new photo of Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, her mysterious Star Wars: The Last Jedi character.

Like with previous Star Wars installments, The Last Jedi -- as well as Dern's character -- are still shrouded in secrecy, with the actress' character being excluded from the latest trailer. Outside of our first look from a Vanity Fair photoshoot earlier this year, the new still -- revealed by Dern herself -- is the first to show Holdo in all her violet glory.

The new still was revealed by Dern ahead of her scheduled appearance on Ellen, where she was on hand to promote the upcoming film. Unsurprisingly, she was unable to reveal much other than she was, in fact, in the film. However, even being unable to openly talk about her role, Dern did tell Ellen that she had the "greatest experience" of her life filming the movie. She also shared an embarrassing story of how director Rian Johnson discovered she'd been making the sounds for her weapons only once he'd entered the editing bay. "On camera, you hear me then going, 'pew! pew, pew!'" she shared.
