Everyone expects "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" to make a big splash when it arrives in December. Today, Disney managed to make the film's anticipated opening even more of an event with news that the studio has reserved every IMAX screen in North America for J.J. Abrams' sequel. Every screen, for a month.

In addition to the 375 to 400 U.S. screens -- IMAX opens more theaters in the fall, so it's impossible to get an exact number right now -- "The Force Awakens" will also dominate the majority of IMAX's international theaters for another 400 or so screens. The deal is similar too one that was struck for the "Hobbit" films in 2012, and could position the sequel to break "Jurassic World's" current IMAX opening weekend record of $28.8 million.

Opening Dec. 18, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie.
