Compared to other science fiction properties, "Star Wars" was purposefully created with a lived-in feel. The clothes were dirty, the ships had been hot-rodded, and the weapons were cobbled together from real weapons and artifacts found in our galaxy. This attention to detail spawned a number of iconic props (Luke's lightsaber, Han's blaster, the stormtrooper helmet) that have been recreated by cosplayers and mass manufacturers alike.

Now, thanks to an expansive and impressive gallery from Wired, fans can get a detailed look at the next wave of "Star Wars" props that will appear in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" (as well as convention floors and toy aisles for the rest of time). From Captain Phasma's (Gwendoline Christie) helmet and blaster to the First Order's entire line of trooper helmets (storm, flame, snow, etc.), each prop is photographed with eye-catching clarity.

You can see a selection of props below; the entire gallery of 50 (yes, fifty) images is over at Wired.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens on December 18.
