Disney+ has released the first trailer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

The trailer begins with Tarkin observing the eponymous Clone Force 99 and expressing concern over the soldiers' disobedience due to their genetic defects. Shortly thereafter, we're introduced to a child named Omega, who's already familiar with Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker and Crosshair. After Tarkin declares that Clone Force 99 is to be eliminated, we see a shot of The Mandalorian breakout Fennec Shand and the returning Saw Gerrera, and the trailer ends with the clones welcoming Omega into their ranks as they attempt to escape the newly formed Galactic Empire.

The Bad Batch was announced shortly after the series finale of The Clone Wars. A sizzle reel for the series was released in December 2020, at which time fans learned Fennec Shand would appear in the show.

Clone Force 99, better known as the Bad Batch, is a group of misfit troopers who each possess a specific skill and renegade way of approaching their duty. Made up of Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, Hunter and Echo, the team first appeared as part of a set of unfinished story reels released after the original cancellation of The Clone Wars. Though their history dates back to 2012, they didn't properly arrive until the seventh and final season of The Clone Wars in 2020.

Created by Dave Filoni, Star Wars: The Bad Batch stars Dee Bradley Baker and Ming-Na Wen. The series premieres May 4 on Disney+.
