The Star Wars universe is growing leaps and bounds thanks to the multiple series coming to Disney+. There are several live action and animated shows in the works which will continue to expand on the established Star Wars universe. One of these shows is titled Star Wars: The Bad Batch, an animated series set between Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. The timeline placement of The Bad Batch gives it the potential to answer some big questions, particularly what happened to Clones Gregor and Wolffe after The Clone Wars.

These two characters served the Republic during the war. Wolffe was a decorated and respected Commander of the Clone Army and was the leader of the infamous Wolfpack Squad. Gregor, on the other hand, was a commando who was presumed dead after the Battle of Sarrish. In truth, he crash landed on Abafar and was suffering from amnesia. A chance encounter with R2-D2 and his team of Droids restored his memory.

These events all happened prior to Order 66. Gregor and Wolffe appeared years later, living in retirement with Captain Rex on Seelos and without their control chips. How they got rid of those chips, avoided Order 66 and re-connected with Rex has never been discussed. Even more confusing is the fact that Gregor was presumed dead after the events on Abafar during the Clone Wars.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch

Though The Clone Wars didn't address what happened to Gregor and Wolffe, its finale episode acted as a backdoor pilot for The Bad Batch, perfectly positioning the new series to clarify these plot holes. In the finale, a group defective Clones called Force99/The Bad Batch assisted Anakin Skywalker and Rex on a mission to rescue Echo, a Clone who had been a prisoner of war for several years. After the mission was complete, Echo, who had been changed into a cyborg by the Techno Union, remained with the Bad Batch, thus setting up the coming animated series.

Given the timing of The Bad Batch, there is a huge possibility that fans will get some answers to these questions. Wolffe and Gregor are by no means key characters, but they do play key roles in specific stories on both The Clone Wars and Rebels. There are huge gaps in their respective stories that need to be filled in. Doing so would only serve to build an even richer world for fans to enjoy.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2021.
