The High Republic Era

The Acolyte was one of several major projects announced for the Star Wars universe, alongside the upcoming spinoffs Ahsoka, the Lando series and more. This is all on top of projects such as the recently released Tales of the Jedi anthology series and Season 3 of The Mandalorian. However, The Acolyte is unique among these projects, as it is the only one set during the High Republic era, which Disney introduced as a new frontier in the Star Wars universe.

The High Republic was introduced as the golden age of the Jedi Order when the thriving Republic was reliant on its knights and masters of the Force. It is a period in the Star Wars timeline that spanned several centuries and came to an end not too long before the period explored in the Star Wars films. Thus far, the High Republic has mostly been explored in novels and comic books.

Disney+'s The Acolyte does not yet have a release date.
